We all have passions—things we just love doing. Our lives are shaped by what we love. But as I’m sure you know, every passion comes with its share of hardship.
Two of my greatest passions in life are playing in the NFL and going to Nigeria. I’m privileged to get to play football for a living, and I love it. But playing football is full of danger and adversity, and it’s never easy.
I also love visiting Nigeria, where my parents are from. Every summer I go back to Nigeria with a team of doctors and nurses who volunteer with Living Hope Ministries to provide medical care to those who don’t have access to the health services we take for granted. Some of my teammates, including Calais Campbell, have come along too.
Here’s a glimpse of what life is like in both the NFL and Nigeria, and what these two passions have taught be about what it means to be REAL.
